Principal’s Welcome

Welcome to St Mary’s College, Ipswich, a school where all young women can discover, inspire, create and belong. My name is Judith Finan and I am very proud to be the Principal of the College; a vibrant community of respectful young women and influential staff.

My teaching career has been rewarding and I am thankful that it has led me to St Mary’s College. Our girls are at the heart of all I do at the College and I invest my time to build authentic relationships within our school community.

The College provides a well-balanced educational experience where our students have the opportunity to shine during and outside school hours. We trust that the memories made will last a lifetime, and that each young woman has found a place where she belongs.

St Mary’s was established in 1863 and since this time we have been privileged to educate strong, skilled and successful women. We are proud to share that the current Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk graduated from St Mary’s College and freely shares her admiration for her Catholic education.

“I really appreciated the commitment of the teachers because they provided me with so many valuable skills. I believe having a Catholic education taught me strong social justice values that I am committed to and I use these values in my work today as Premier.”

I invite you to enjoy our corporate videos, visit our Facebook page or join us at our Open Evening to experience the unique and special nature of our community. Alternatively, please contact our Enrolments Officer, on 3432 5444 to make a time to visit the College as we would be delighted to give you a tour of the College.
